Tax on winnings in Brazil

Federal lottery prizes such as Mega-Sena are subject to 30% income tax withheld at source on prizes above the exempt band (around R$1,900) — advertised jackpots are pre-tax and Caixa pays the net amount. The withholding is definitive, with no further income tax due on the prize.
