Shorter odds are not automatically better value — shorter-odds games pay smaller top prizes. Cost per unit of chance (price × odds) is the cleanest single comparison.
Chilean lottery prizes are subject to a single 15% tax (impuesto único, Art. 20 N°6 of the Income Tax Law) withheld by the paying institution — advertised prizes from Polla Chilena de Beneficencia and Lotería de Concepción are typically shown net of this tax. Winners need not declare the prize in their annual return, as the withholding settles the tax.
