Lotto (Ireland) — how prizes are taxed

Irish National Lottery prizes are tax-free in Ireland.

Ireland: the rules

Irish National Lottery and EuroMillions winnings are paid tax-free — prizes are not subject to income tax. Deposit interest, dividends and capital gains earned on the money afterwards are taxed normally (CGT currently 33%), and gifts from winnings above the tax-free thresholds can trigger Capital Acquisitions Tax for the recipient.
