Lottery winnings from licensed operators (Sports Toto, Magnum, Da Ma Cai) are not subject to personal income tax in Malaysia — prizes are windfalls and are paid in full. Interest or investment income earned on the winnings afterwards is taxable, and the 2024 capital gains tax does not apply to lottery prizes.
