Taiwan
Taiwan withholds 20% tax on large lottery prizes; small fixed prizes are paid in full.
Public Welfare Lottery prizes above NT$5,000 are subject to a final 20% withholding tax; prizes of NT$5,000 or less are exempt. The withholding is separate taxation — once deducted, the winnings need not be included in the annual income tax return. Non-resident winners face the same withholding at source.
3 months from the start of the prize-claim period.
