Loto (Chile) — how prizes are taxed

Chilean lottery prizes are exempt from income tax; advertised amounts are paid in full.

Chile: the rules

Chilean lottery prizes are subject to a single 15% tax (impuesto único, Art. 20 N°6 of the Income Tax Law) withheld by the paying institution — advertised prizes from Polla Chilena de Beneficencia and Lotería de Concepción are typically shown net of this tax. Winners need not declare the prize in their annual return, as the withholding settles the tax.

Regulator: Polla Chilena de Beneficencia and Lotería de Concepción operate under statute; Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego regulates casinosofficial site
