Two anonymous winners: a Singleton (NSW) couple and a Hawthorne (Brisbane) woman

The NSW winners, a couple from Singleton in the Hunter Valley, held a 50-game QuickPick bought online at thelott.com. The Queensland winner, a woman from the Brisbane suburb of Hawthorne, held an unregistered entry whose type The Lott did not disclose; she found out by scanning it on The Lott app.

What happened

Powerball draw 1446 on Thursday 1 February 2024 offered A$200 million, the biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history, after the pool rolled for six consecutive weeks from the unwon A$150 million draw 1445. Two division one entries matched, splitting the prize at A$100 million each. One was a 50-game QuickPick bought online at thelott.com by a couple from Singleton in the NSW Hunter Valley. The woman said she had checked "a moment ago and I instantly went 'oh my god'", adding: "I mean you joke about winning but never expect it to happen to you. Well, I absolutely won't be working anymore!" The second entry was unregistered and held by a woman from the Brisbane suburb of Hawthorne, who checked it at 6am on The Lott app while getting ready for the gym: "I scanned the ticket on The Lott app and all the winning numbers immediately lit up and I saw that I'd won $100 million on my phone." She said she wanted to change career direction and start her own business. Twenty-two division two entries won A$177,092.75 each. Neither winner was publicly named.

Where they are now

Both winners came forward within days of the February 2024 draw and both remained anonymous; the Hawthorne woman said she intended to start her own business. In The Lott's published records as of 2025 the A$200 million pool still stands as the largest jackpot ever offered by an Australian lottery, and the two A$100 million shares as equal-second largest individual Australian prizes behind a South Australian man's A$150 million win in May 2024.

One detail worth keeping

The Brisbane winner found out at 6am, scanning her ticket on The Lott app while getting ready for the gym: every number lit up and A$100 million appeared on her phone.
